09/11/26 - Remembering the Day Everything Got Quiet

September 11 is one of those dates that still feels different.

Even after all these years, it carries a weight with it. Many of us remember where we were, what we were doing, and how the world seemed to stop for a moment. The noise of everyday life suddenly became very small compared to the reality of what was happening.

It was a day filled with fear, loss, confusion, and heartbreak.

But it was also a day that revealed courage.

First responders ran toward danger. Strangers helped strangers. Families held each other a little tighter. People prayed. People cried. People remembered what really mattered.

Days like this remind us that life is fragile, but love is stronger than fear. They remind us that faith is not just for easy days. Faith is what we hold onto when the world does not make sense.

Today, I remember the lives lost. I honor the heroes who served and sacrificed. And I pray for the families who still carry the pain of that day.

May we never forget.

And may we live in a way that proves we still remember.

08/24/26 - The Parts Nobody Applauds

We tend to notice the finished product.

 We hear the song, but we don't hear the hours spent practising it. We watch the magician perform the impossible, but we don't see the hundreds of times the move was repeated when nobody was watching. We enjoy the theme park attraction without thinking about the countless people working behind the scenes before the gates ever open. 

Life and faith can be a lot like that. 

Some of the most important work happens when there is no audience, no applause, and sometimes no evidence that we're making any progress at all.

Those quiet moments matter. 

Every prayer nobody hears, every time we choose to do the right thing when nobody would know otherwise, and every small step we take toward becoming the person God wants us to be is part of something bigger. 

We may not always see what God is building while He's building it. 

But I've learned not to underestimate what can happen behind the scenes.

After all, that's usually where the magic begins.

07/10/26 - Not Ashamed

The other day, I was sitting in a coffee shop and noticed two young ladies reading and studying their Bibles.

They were not making a scene. They were not trying to impress anyone. They were simply sitting there, spending time in God’s Word in the middle of an ordinary day.

And honestly, it inspired me.

Later, when I got home, I came across Matthew 6:6, where Jesus talks about going into your room, closing the door, and praying to your Father in secret. It made me think about how much God values the quiet, unseen moments of faith.

But seeing those young ladies also reminded me of something else.

There is still something powerful about not being ashamed of what you believe, even in public. Not showing off. Not performing. Just living your faith honestly in a world that is loud, distracted, and often trying to pull people away from God.

It gave me hope.

Hope that the next generation is not lost. Hope that there are still young people seeking truth. Hope that faith is still alive in quiet corners, coffee shops, bedrooms, churches, and anywhere someone opens their heart to God.

I do not know those young ladies’ stories, but I hope God blesses them for the example they gave without even knowing it.

Sometimes a simple moment can remind you that God is still working.

Even over coffee.

 06/15/26 -  Waiting in Line Still Counts 

Nobody loves waiting in line. Not at a theme park, not in traffic, not in life. Humans invented queues and then acted shocked when they were annoying. Brilliant work, society.

But sometimes the line is part of the story.

A theme park line builds anticipation before the ride. A song has verses before the chorus. A magic trick needs setup before the reveal. Even faith has seasons where nothing seems to be happening, but something is still being prepared.

The waiting is not wasted just because it is uncomfortable.

Sometimes God uses the slow parts to steady us, shape us, and teach us to keep moving forward one step at a time.

So today, I’m reminding myself that the next big moment may still be ahead, but this part matters too.

Even if the line could really use better shade.

05/29/26 - A Wholehearted Devotion

In 1 Chronicles 28:9, David gives his son Solomon advice that still lands hard today. He tells him to acknowledge God, serve Him with wholehearted devotion, and keep a willing mind.

That phrase, “wholehearted devotion,” stands out.

It does not mean giving God whatever is left over after life, work, stress, bills, and distractions have all taken their turn. It means bringing Him our full attention, our real thoughts, our motives, and our choices. God is not impressed by appearances. He searches every heart and understands every motive behind every thought.

That can sound intimidating, but it is also comforting. God sees the parts of us that others miss. He sees the effort, the struggle, the questions, and the quiet moments when we are trying to do the right thing.

David also reminds Solomon that seeking God is not pointless. If we seek Him, He will be found. That is a promise worth holding onto.

Faith is not just about knowing the right words or going through the motions. It is about a willing heart that keeps turning toward God, even when life is messy, uncertain, or just being its usual dramatic self.

Today, the challenge is simple: seek God sincerely, serve Him willingly, and give Him more than the leftovers.

05/08/2026 - The Magic of Showing Up

There’s something powerful about showing up, whether it’s walking into a theme park, stepping on stage with a deck of cards, picking up an instrument, or taking a quiet moment to pray and reset.

The real magic is not always the big reveal. Sometimes it’s the small choice to keep going, to create something, to learn something, or to make someone smile.

Theme parks remind us to wonder. Music reminds us to feel. Magic reminds us that mystery still matters. Faith reminds us we are not walking through this life alone.

So today, I’m choosing to keep building, keep creating, and keep believing there’s still something amazing around the next corner.

And hopefully, it has decent snacks.
